Overview

The Sr. Financial Analyst will contribute to the company's success by providing dedicated support to finance & accounting teams, working with complex financial models, and generating reporting related their assigned operational areas.

 

The Sr. Financial Analyst will work with their business partners to ensure optimal short-term and long-term decision making. He/ She will provide assistance “planning the work” and then “working the plan” most efficiently and effectively. Financial data is at the core, but the FP&A team will be responsible for providing a balanced view of the business including operational metrics and activity drivers.

 

To be successful in this role, this individual must have FP&A experience, the ability to work with large amounts of data, strong excel modeling skills and presentation building capabilities.

 

This multi-faceted role will also support the Corporate Finance team with general accounting, transactions, treasury, and decision support. This individual will help ensure complaince with accounting standards and provide accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities

Financial Analysis -
• Generate financial statements on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis
• Provide proactive variance analyses, account analysis, and reconciliations to ensure proper accounting
• Analyze profitability for key areas of assigned operational area
• Produce proformas and post reviews/ measurement for key initiatives
Financial Operating Planning -
• Produce assigned deliverables for the annual financial operating plan (as required for assigned operational area) with driver based targets; guide partner through process and ensure understanding and alignment on all budget submissions
• Produce monthly financial forecast for individual departments and consolidated views
Managing & Reporting Business Performance -
• Assist on data gathering (through collaboration with functional partners) for periodic business reviews
• Prepare presentations, schedules & required support (including KPIs and Scorecards)
• Complete competitive benchmarking, macro-environment and market share/ growth analyses
• Drive improvement in financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders
Strategic Planning -
• Work with assigned operational areas, provide the financial view for the longer term (3-5 year) planning process
• Identify & track KPIs/ balanced scorecards which link to the strategies
• Drive continuous improvement of processes, methods, and workflows

 

Business Analysis -
• Develop & deliver ad-hoc decision support
• Create, provide and partner on:
‒ descriptive analytics & exploratory data analytics – “What”
‒ diagnostic analytics – “Why”


Data & Systems -
• Provide data sourcing, querying & modeling for discovery analytics
• Assist with maintenance of financial reporting models
• Drive efficient utilization of the accounting software and related tools
• Leads or participates in special projects, as requested


Financial Operations -
• Serve as a key backup for certain critical tasks within the Corporate Finance area
• Drive improvement in accounting documentation, including workpaper structure, consistency, and scalability
• Support the accounting team as needed during monthly/quarterly/annual close periods

Qualifications

Qualifications -
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or similar quantitative field of study.
• 3+ years of progressive Finance experience. Prior FP&A experience at a large company ($1B+ Sales) preferred.
• Experience working in Microsoft tools (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint) and business intelligence software (i.e. Cognos, PowerBI).
• Strong ability to create and work with complex Excel models is preferred.
• Working knowledge in Financial/ GL Systems (i.e. Fusion, Hyperion), Database querying tools, Visualization tools, Statistical tools.
• Prior experience in retail, wholesale, distribution and/ or consumer packaged goods is preferred.
