Overview

Lowes Foods is seeking a recent college graduate with an interest in retail leadership to join our 12-18 month Co-Manager training program.

Responsibilities

  1. Partners with the Training Team and assigned Mentor to coordinate training activities and learning experiences.
  2. Works in each department/area of the store environment to gain understanding and working knowledge of key areas, including, but not limited to, daily operations, host experience, merchandising, and financials.
  3. Participates in the inventory process in each department to reach the necessary level of support associated with the role of Co-Manager.
  4. Obtains Manager On Duty (MOD) Certification
  5. Assists the Mentor in implementing an in-store sales-building culture that ensures growth through the execution of company merchandising programs and weekly sales plans in each department, planning and executing weekly sales themes, ensuring in-stock conditions throughout the store, and actively participating in weekly sales and division meetings.
  6. Ensures the desired guest experience is achieved through focus and targeted coaching of the host team by leveraging the Lowes Foods coaching models.
  7. Assists in controlling store variable expenses, including achieving budgeted labor metrics.
  8. Assists in the store's staffing, including forecasting of needs, recruitment, and training. Additionally, assists in planning the bench for the store, including identifying and developing hi-potential and promotable individuals.
  9. Conduct frequent and detailed store walks and develop action plans based on findings.
  10. Ensures sanitation and food safety standards are maintained throughout the store (as measured through internal and external sources).
  11. Creates an atmosphere that ensures positive store morale through effective supervisory treatment and recognition.
  12. Ensures compliance to company standards (as measured by ALI audits).
  13. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local statutes, regulations, and company policies.
  14. Maintains a safe facility for guests and hosts.

Qualifications

  1. A recent college graduate with a Bachelor's degree. 
  2. Ability to travel within regional market for the duration of the training period.
  3. Ability to work varied shifts/days based on the needs of the business and training program.
  4. 1-2 years supermarket management experience preferred, not required.
